In the old days, the Yellow Pages was the common way to find a local business. Today, it’s Google. Most Google searches result in offline purchases, so it is a very powerful local marketing method that your business can take advantage of.
What’s really awesome is that local search results are free – all you have to do is take a little time to ensure that you show up in a local search. First, claim your Google Places business listing which is now called Google+ Local Page. Fill out all the information that you can about your business. You’ll be sent a postcard confirmation in the mail, or verify by phone or SMS. Be sure to confirm and verify so that your page will be listed.
